Officials issued fire a warning about a scam of home inspection apparent after a person posing as a firefighter arrangements made watching detectors in a downtown home.

A man claiming to be “Frank fire the” called a Pleasant Home Wednesday Street and arranged to inspect the home carbon monoxide and smoke later evening detectors.

Residents become suspicious and called the Fire Department, who alerted the police.

Ed Bradley fire chief said his Department did not use named Frank, nor is the Department and organize inspections by phone.

Inspections of carbon monoxide and smoke alarms are generally in conjunction with sales of goods and are usually scheduled by the owner in person, at the seat of the fire.

The Fire Department inspection team members to wear uniforms and badges and drive cars city seals when conducting inspections. Sometimes, engine companies carry out inspections and but arrive in uniform and fire engines.

Bradley said police were trying to trace the appellant with a number on the left with the Pleasant resident Street. Regular appointments to residents with “Frank” came and went without visitors, Wednesday night.

Bradley said that it was not clear whether the appellant attempted to enter the House or just harass the resident, but the call seemed similar scams reported elsewhere in the State of last summer involving water fake counter inspections.

Bradley informed anyone who gets an appeal of smoke or carbon monoxide detector inspection call Plymouth police or fire department.
